Port Stanley Fleet

Port Stanley Soling Fleet - PSSF

The Port Stanley Soling fleet was re-launched by Manfred Kanter in 2006 after many years of inactivity. During the 70's and 80's there was an active fleet of some six or seven Solings racing out of Port Stanley on Lake Erie. The owners moved onto other boats over the years and the fleet dispersed.

The Port Stanley Sailing Squadron (PSSS) realized the potential to expand the club with both new boats and members, with this in mind; a new dry-sail facility was constructed. The boat of choice to launch this venture was the Soling.

Manfred purchased an older Soling in need of a total refit and with the help of his daughter Kassidy transformed a relic into what many call a brand new Soling. From here many other members of the Port Stanley Sailing Squadron have since searched out and found boats in various conditions and price ranges which has led to an ever expanding fleet in Port Stanley.

The fleet has developed into approximately 10 Solings preparing to race on Wednesday and Sundays at PSSS in 2013. The Port Stanley Fleet currently consists of the following dry sailed boats;
